With support and input from varied stakeholders, STEM Hub for Empowerment of young women (S.H.E) project's new and innovative approach is designed to encourage the increased participation of adolescent girls and young women in the traditional male spaces of technology, digital skills, and financial literacy. Located in Ikeja, Lagos, the state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Hub started operations for vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) between the ages of 16 and 24 years. They will have the opportunity to participate in youth-friendly training at no cost, following a standardized curriculum with a focus on obtaining standard and globally accredited certifications.

Job Summary
The Program Coordinator for the STEM Empowerment Hub is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all activities and initiatives aimed at empowering girls in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
This role involves creating a supportive and enriching environment for girls to explore and excel in STEM fields through a variety of programs and activities.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Program Planning and Development:
Work with experts to develop and review a comprehensive program curriculum for life skills, computer programming, digital marketing, and technical engineering that aligns with the needs and interests of girls.
Collaborate with experts and educators to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date.
Create a long-term program roadmap that outlines goals and objectives.
Program Implementation:
Organize and oversee computer programming classes, digital marketing workshops, life skills sessions, and technical engineering didactic sessions.
Coordinate with instructors and facilitators to ensure the effective delivery of educational content.
Monitor the progress and performance of participants, providing support and guidance as needed.
Hub Administration:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the STEM Hub, including scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Outreach and Partnerships:
Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and STEM professionals to expand the Hub’s reach and resources
Promote the Hub’s mission and encourage participation and engagement.
Develop outreach strategies to attract and engage girls in the local community.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the budget for the Hub, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
Seek funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorship to sustain and grow the Hub’s activities.
Event Coordination:
Organize events, showcases, and exhibitions to highlight the achievements of program and participants.
Coordinate with volunteers and partners to ensure the success of these events.
Communication and Advocacy:
Promote the STEM Hub and its initiatives through various communication channels.
Advocate for gender equality and empowerment in STEM fields within the community.
Engage in public speaking, media appearances, and networking to raise awareness of the Hub’s mission
Evaluation and Assessment:
Support the establishment of an evaluation criteria to measure the impact and effectiveness of the STEM programs.
Support the collection and analysis of data to track participant progress and program outcomes.
Use assessment results to make continuous improvements to the programs.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant data, and financial transactions.
Prepare regular reports and updates for stakeholders and donors, demonstrating the positive outcomes of the program
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Management).
Prior experience in program coordination or project management.
Knowledge of STEM education and related disciplines.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
Passion for empowering girls in STEM fields.
