Job Title: Backend Engineer

Job Summary

• We are looking for a developer responsible for building applications to help drive internal process automation, including anything from back-end services to their client-end counterparts.
• Your primary responsibilities will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.
• Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Education / Experience Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Advance degree (Master’s degree or MBA) in Management information systems, technology management, business administration or a related field can be advantageous.
• Should be able to communicate fluently in simple and clear English
• Experience working with finance and payment related workflow services is a must
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment is a plus

Knowledge / Skills:

• Proficient in PHP, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Proficiency with the .NET framework
• Proficient use of ASP.Net MVC and .Net Core
• Proficient and good knowledge of C#
• Proficient in Symfony / slim framework
• Ample knowledge working with REST / SOA/ SOAP Based APIs using PHP/Laravel
• Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and CI/CD.
• A strong knowledge of Agile Methodology is a plus
• Familiarity with JavaScript framework (VueJS/Angular)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Skill for writing reusable PHP libraries
• Experience working with finance and payment related workflow services is a must
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• A strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is a MUST
• Familiarity with Magento is an advantage
• Knack for writing clean, readable code
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Bitbucket, GitHub
• Understanding of USSD code-based programming is a plus.
