Team Purpose
The Clinical services Unit (CSU) is the main services delivery unit of the organization and responsible for the delivery of both quantitative and qualitative key program performance targets.
The unit Contributes to health system strengthening through provision of systematic and purposeful knowledge and skill transfer to supported facility’s health workers through a structured and effective engagement.
Relevant skills and knowledge are aligned with the organizational and grant’s goal of building people and sustainable systems through learning.
This unit prepare all intended beneficiaries through the adapting of the organizational learning culture with a view to developing self-confidence, creative, system thinking, communications and feedback skills in program implementation.
In collaboration with prevention and priority population unit, the CSU reviews and analyzes sites performance, identify implementation bottle necks and provide structured approaches to improve performance as well as recommends possible solutions to mitigate services disruptions.
Job Description
The incumbent will ensure appropriate support for the implementation of program activities in HIV prevention for key and vulnerable populations
S/he will support the designinterventions to prevent HIV among key populations, including those that address gender inequalities, stigma and discrimination and the legal rights and status of key populations, and economic barriersProvides mentoring and capacity building at the individual and organizational level for community-based organizations and KP groups.
Expands community based HTS, task shifting and demand creation, especially aimed at key and vulnerable populations;Increases knowledge and positive attitudes of patients toward HIV services to expect counseling, testing and referrals for key population, Increases the number of HIV-infected adults with key and vulnerable populations who access HTS.
Supervises/supports local NGOs in promoting community participation in HIV prevention for key and vulnerable populations as part of integrated community interventions.
Analyzes potential key and vulnerable population HIV prevention strategies within the context of the program and explain these, as necessary, to policymakers, funding agencies, and/or program staff.Contribute to the design and implementation of approaches in sexual transmission prevention, HIV Testing and Counseling, PHDP and partner notification servicesSupport the design and implementation of prevention programs for special populations (such as female sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs.
Provide technical assistance to CBOs/NGOs/FBOs and other sub-partners on prevention interventions.
Support collaboration among partners involved in HIV programs and promotes use of internationally recognized best practices and evidence-informed HIV prevention interventions/services among CIHP sponsored programs in Nigeria.
Support the process of developing/reviewing and adapting HIV Testing and Counseling, Partner notification services, index partner services training curricula and other documents to meet appropriate international standards, regional protocols, and local realities.
Maintains strong and collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders of project including community animators, CDC, MOHs, state institutions, and other partners to support program implementation.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's Degree in Health, Social Science or any of the Humanity Courses; a Master’s or equivalent in Public Health or related fields will be an added advantage
At least 8 years’ post NYSC experience in developing country health care programs or program support function with at least 4 of those years in a leadership position.
Knowledge of the policies, regulations, reporting formats, and cultures of principal donors, including USAID, EC, DFID, CDC/PEPFAR, and others
Extensive clinical experience in care and treatment of HIV/AIDS patients
Demonstrated experience in non-profit sector in a program management role
Strong supervisory and management skills;
Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action.
Good written and oral communication skills
Excellent team player with good inter personal skills
