Team Purpose
The Clinical services Unit (CSU) is the main services delivery unit of the organization and responsible for the delivery of both quantitative and qualitative key program performance targets.
The unit Contributes to health system strengthening through provision of systematic and purposeful knowledge and skill transfer to supported facility’s health workers through a structured and effective engagement.
Relevant skills and knowledge are aligned with the organizational and grant’s goal of building people and sustainable systems through learning.
This unit prepare all intended beneficiaries through the adapting of the organizational learning culture with a view to developing self-confidence, creative, system thinking, communications and feedback skills in program implementation.
In collaboration with prevention and priority population unit, the CSU reviews and analyzes sites performance, identify implementation bottle necks and provide structured approaches to improve performance as well as recommends possible solutions to mitigate services disruptions.
Summary
The incumbent will support the implementation of program activities in HIV Testing Services (HTS), Safe & Ethical Index Testing Services (IT), HIV Self Testing (HIVST), & Holistic Prevention Services (Condoms, Lubricant, Peer-Education, & SBCC) Strong Linkages and referral systems for people living with HIV/AIDS among general & key populations.
The job holder will work closely with the HTS/KP, & Prevention lead to ensure appropriate and quality services with the above- mentioned program activities are provided.
Duties and responsibilities
Support the implementation of sexual transmission prevention, HIV Testing Services, Positive Health Dignity & Prevention (PHDP), Safe & Ethical Index Testing Services, HIV Self Testing (HIVST), Social Network Testing (SNT) among Key & General Population.
Support the implementation of Prevention Programs on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Condoms and Lubricants among Key & General Population
Working with the MOH and other institutions and ensuring that programs related to HIV Testing Services / Prevention services are adequately documented to facilitate the sharing of best practices and program development in line with agreed set objectives
Provide technical assistance to CBOs/NGOs/FBOs sub-partners on HTS, capacity building of health care workers and other partners
Support the organization in the maintenance of strong collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders of project including community animators, CDC, MOHs, state institutions, and other partners working with Key population
Conduct evidence-based research such as assessment, planning to support programming, designing assessment tools.
Collaborate with the integration of TB/HIV services for co-infected patients, lead the design of structural interventions to prevent HIV among key populations, including those that address gender inequalities, stigma and discrimination and the legal rights / economic barriers.
Support the team to develop and adapt Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) and other IEC materials to on different thematic program areas.
Facilitate Capacity Building & Knowledge Management through continuous mentoring and trainings of Health Care Workers (HCW) across the Four Supported States.
Strengthens quality assurance (QA) of community and facility-based HTS.
Ensures that services are adequately documented using existing national platforms.
Qualifications and experience
First Degree in or its equivalent in any field
At least two years’ Post NYSC in HIV Programming with a working knowledge of the National and PEPFAR/CDC HIV Prevention program priorities.
A proven commitment to understanding the organizational aims, values, and principles including rights-based approaches.
A vast knowledge in Key Population Programming with a strong working relationship with KP and other PLHIV groups
Experienced building capacity at individual and organizational levels.
Skilled in at least two or more of the following technical areas: strengthening service delivery programs, performance and quality improvement, psychosocial support, monitoring and evaluation.
