Job Description

• We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Volunteer Lawyer to join our team and contribute pro bono services. As a Volunteer Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing legal assistance to individuals in need who may not have access to legal representation. This is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals committed to making a positive impact on the community through their expertise.

Responsibilities

• Legal Consultations:

  • Provide pro bono legal consultations to individuals facing financial constraints or other barriers to legal services.
  • Assess legal issues and offer guidance on potential courses of action.

• Case Management:

  • Manage and oversee assigned pro bono cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and provide representation as required.

• Client Advocacy:

  • Advocate on behalf of clients in legal proceedings, negotiations, or alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Ensure the protection of clients' rights and interests.

• Legal Education:

  • Conduct legal education sessions for clients to empower them with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about pro bono legal services.

• Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, organizations, and community partners to enhance the reach and impact of pro bono services.
  • Participate in team meetings and case reviews.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 2 years work experience.
• Licensed attorney with a strong commitment to pro bono service.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant legal principles and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients in vulnerable situations.
