Job Title: Software Project Management (Intern)

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Job Description

• In our bid to further enhance our development process, we are currently recruiting software prefessionals who have stuffs to offer and willing to further improve their skills.
• If you are energetic, smart, proactive, go-getter and a team player youth with real passion for software engineering plus the ability to grow skills under the tutelage of expert engineers; why not advance your career at xPlug Technologies.
• Successful applicants would be enrolled into our 2 weeks foundation programme (training) to equip them with necessary foundational knowledge for managing software product delivery effectively.
• Trainned applicants would then be tested again after the training and only successful applicants would be integrated into the internship programme.

Responsibilities

• As an intern, you would be assigned some duties, which may include:
• Assist senior project managers in overseeing schedules and milestone management.
• Obtain weekly project status from all team members.
• Learn and use project management tools.
• Implement and improve the project management mechanisms.
• Prepare and assist in project documentation.
• Document resource needs and availability.
• Organize and schedule team meetings.
• Identify project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines.
• Keep track of the project costs.
• Provide consistent updates on the project to all stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and help in adjustments.
• Measure the project performance to suggest areas of improvement.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees with 1 - 2 years relevant work experience.

Skills:

• You’re a self-starter with strong follow-through and a passion for learning
• Able to work both independently and in a cooperative team environment to achieve goals
• Understand and apply appropriate program management methodologies (e.g., Agile methodology, Waterfall, etc.), principles, practices and values
• Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and other related tools
• Experience or understanding of project planning tools and software packages
• Interested in program management
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively complete operational and project based assignments;
• Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization;
• Strong organizational skills.

Conditions for this job
Following are the conditions for this job role:

• This is an intern programme for Software Project Management
• Applicants would be tested before enrolment into our internship programme
• Internship is for a minimum of 1 year. Successful interns would be integrated into our core delivery team
• This is a paid internship programme. However, remuneration depends on the level of knowledge and skills already acquired in the field.
• Successful applicants would be integrated into our several project teams.
• Successful applicants would be exposed to several software development and delivery methodologies, equipping them with processes of building and assuring scalable applications using latest and robust technologies as platform for delivery.
• Youth Corpers (NYSC) may apply for this role but must be posted to serve with us.
