Job Description

• A technical drawing tutor instructs students in drafting techniques, teaches precision in geometric drawings, and guides in the use of drafting tools to create accurate and detailed technical illustrations.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Drafting Techniques: Instructing students on the fundamentals of technical drawing, including line types, geometric construction, orthographic projection, and dimensioning.
• Guidance in Drafting Tools Usage: Teaching the use of drafting tools such as T-squares, triangles, compasses, and technical pens, ensuring accuracy in technical illustrations.
• Demonstrating Software Skills: Familiarizing students with computer-aided design (CAD) software for technical drawing and assisting in its practical application.
• Geometric Accuracy: Teaching precision and accuracy in drawing geometric shapes, curves, and angles, emphasizing adherence to industry standards.
• Interpreting Technical Drawings: Assisting students in interpreting and creating technical drawings based on engineering or architectural specifications and standards.
• Problem-Solving Assistance: Helping students solve complex technical drawing problems, providing guidance on layout, scale, and presentation.
• Reviewing and Feedback: Reviewing students' technical drawings, providing constructive feedback, and suggesting improvements for clarity and precision.
• Safety and Standards Compliance: Ensuring students understand safety protocols and adhere to industry standards while creating technical drawings.
• Project and Assignment Planning: Designing projects and assignments that challenge students to apply technical drawing principles and enhance their skills.
• Career Guidance: Offering advice on potential career paths involving technical drawing, providing insights into industry requirements, and supporting career development in related fields.

Education / Experience

• B.Ed in Technical Drawing and Other Relevant Certification.
• Firm understanding and practical experience of the Cambridge Curriculum
• Minimum of Eight Years Experience.

Required Skills:

• Technical Drawing Proficiency: Mastery of technical drawing principles, including geometric construction, orthographic projection, dimensioning, and detailing.
• Teaching Ability: Capability to effectively impart technical drawing concepts in a clear and understandable manner suitable for students with varying skill levels.
• Knowledge of Drawing Tools: Proficiency in using traditional drafting tools like T-squares, triangles, compasses, scales, as well as familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to emphasize precision and accuracy in drawings, focusing on detail orientation and adherence to industry standards.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to guide students through complex drawing problems, assisting in analyzing and finding solutions for technical challenges.
• Communication Skills: Clear communication in explaining drawing techniques, providing feedback, and aiding students in understanding technical drawing concepts.
• Adaptability: Flexibility in teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and pace of students.
• Patience and Empathy: Displaying patience while explaining intricate drawing techniques and demonstrating empathy towards students' learning difficulties.
