Job Title: Senior Accountant (Construction Sector)

Role Description

• Our company is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant (Construction Sector) to join our client. This role will be based in Victoria Island and will require on-site work.

As the Senior Accountant in the Construction Sector, you will be responsible for the below;

• Managing and overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects
• Expert knowledge in inventory management
• Conduct in-depth analysis of asset, liability, and capital accounts to provide comprehensive financial insights.
• Prepare accurate and detailed financial reports for effective decision-making.
• Ensure that all expenses are documented, controlled, and communicated effectively with all stakeholders.
• Efficiently document financial transactions by ensuring meticulous and organized entry of account information.
• Conduct thorough audits of documents to substantiate and validate financial transactions.
• Preparing financial reports and analysis for project teams as well as working with external auditors
• Safeguard financial information by proactively completing regular database backups.
• Demonstrate proficiency in database management to ensure the security and confidentiality of financial data
• Supervise and streamline routine accounting processes, including but not limited to Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), General Accounts, and monthly closure accounts.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
• Conduct stakeholders to maintain and enhance project financials for leading projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of 12 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
• Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements
• Proficient in the use of accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, or other related management systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial team members and business stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
