Job Description
Full-Time pharmacists will prescribe drugs, counsel, and provide information to patients about medications and their use.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Counseling patients on health/drug related issues with consequent recommendations within professional ethics.
Filling prescriptions after ascertaining the correctness and ensuring rational use of drugs. Keep records in all necessary book
Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications.
Providing medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
Providing other health advice, such as guidance on stopping smoking.
Ensure products are properly displayed on shelves and are kept clean, free from dust, dirt and grease and packs remain wholesome. Shelves should be kept clean. Ensure the cleaning of the Pharmacy Section.
Sales of products to customers to be done on principle of first in first out or based on their expiring dates.
Notify Branch Head and Procurement Manager of near expiring items (within 3-6 months) for necessary action.
Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practices.
Performing other administrative tasks when needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
At least 1 year clinical experience required.
Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
Compounding and dispensing medications, as prescribed by physicians.
Informing customers of any potential side effects.
Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications.
Providing medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
Ensuring a safe, organized, and clean pharmacy environment.
Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, and charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practices.
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on pharmaceutical developments and industry trends.
Proximity to the pharmacy location is an added advantage.
Performing other administrative tasks when needed.
