Job Summary

• Our client is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous biology lessons, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment, and contributing to the overall academic success and personal growth of our students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive and challenging biology curriculum in alignment with national and school standards.
• Create effective lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Deliver inspiring and interactive biology lessons, utilizing innovative teaching methods and technology.
• Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and a passion for biology.
• Administer various formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance and collaborate with colleagues to address individual learning needs.
• Oversee and organize laboratory activities, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for practical experiments.
• Guide students in proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and the application of theoretical concepts.
• Actively participate in and support extracurricular activities related to biology, such as science clubs, field trips, and competitions.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in biology education, teaching methodologies, and technology through continuous professional development.
• Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the school's academic community.
• Establish effective communication with parents to provide regular updates on student progress, share insights into the curriculum, and address any concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, department heads, and school leadership to contribute to the overall success and development of the school.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Biology or a related field; a postgraduate degree and a teaching qualification (PGDE or equivalent) is desirable.
• 5 years work experience.
• Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience teaching biology at the secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the British National Curriculum for Biology.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
