Deputy Chief Technology Offier (CTO) at Next Basket

Next Basket is a company that develops and offers a SaaS e-commerce platform through which online stores are created. The main directorates in the structure are Software Production, Commercial Directorate and Services, where all three have a matrix organisation of responsibilities.

Next Basket offers its products and services in all English-speaking countries on all continents. The company has offices and agencies in Bulgaria, the Philippines, Nigeria and India, and is about to establish its presence in Colombia in order to serve the USA market.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Deputy Chief Technology Offier (CTO)

Location: Maitama, Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• You will collaborate with the CTO to formulate and execute the organization's technology strategy;
• You will be responsible for ensuring employees in IT work productively and develop professionally;
• You will be responsible to allocate and manage technology resources effectively;
• You will have to collaborate with architects and technical teams to define and maintain technology architecture standards;
• You will be responsible to hiring local IT staff;
• You will have to provide strategic advice and recommendations to the CTO and other senior leaders on technology-related matters
• You will have to mentor and develop technology team members;

What Will You Be Doing Every Day?

• Work closely and manage the local IT staff;
• Report to the CTO of the daily achievements of the team;
• Engaging and maintaining relationships with company stakeholders;
• Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors;
• Mentor and guide technology team members in their professional development and skill enhancement
• Identifying IT potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

Our Expectations

• Bachelor's Degree in Technology or other relevant fields;
• 7+ years of experience on a similar role;
• Proven experience in IT;
• Proven experience in E-commerce;
• Proven experience in people management;
• Results-Oriented Approach;
• Organization and Time Management ability.
