We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Boiler / Pellet Press Operator

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Working time: Full-time

Purpose of the Job

• Responsible for maintaining heating systems in large buildings in the boiler/pellet, engine, and mechanical rooms. Handle equipment such as low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, and hot water heating systems.

The Job

• Operate and serve as boiler operator in charge of the boiler room.
• Safely operate Central Heat & Power Plant (CHPP) equipment that produces superheated steam in the specified pressures required for the operation of generators in the production of electrical power.
• Operate, control, and adjust manual and automatic controls on individual boiler control boards to increase or decrease feed water to boilers for the maintenance of proper and safe water levels in boiler drums.
• Obtain maximum boiler combustion efficiency.
• Use manual controls to place in or out of service all auxiliary in proper sequence to start or shutdown boilers.
• Properly record plant operational metrics on plant log sheets.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment associated with the boiler operations.
• Observe boiler and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions.
• Tend to machine that presses ingredients into feed pellets for poultry and stock feed: turn steam valves to regulate temperature of machine.
• Observe ammeter and turn valves to regulate flow of material to machine.

• Possess the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
• Have the ability to identify problems, find potential solutions and implement them.
• Have a high sense of responsibility, accountability, and dependability.

Qualification

• 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings.
• OND in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.

Experience:

• Have at least 2 year’s experience in a similar role.
• Thorough understanding of gauges, dials, valves, and other parts of the boiler equipment.
• Good working knowledge of operating milling machines.
