Role Overview
The Assistant Production Manager in a tailoring and printing company plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the production process.
This position requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and leadership capabilities to ensure efficient and high-quality production of tailored garments and printed materials.
The Assistant Production Manager is essential to maintaining the overall efficiency, quality, and success of the tailoring and printing production processes.
This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage people, processes, and resources to meet the company's production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning:
Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop production schedules and plans.
Ensure the efficient allocation of resources, including manpower, machines, and materials.
Monitor production progress and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
Quality Control:
Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards of product quality.
Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any issues and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
Work with the production team to streamline workflows and optimize production processes.
Stay informed about industry best practices and technological advancements in tailoring and printing.
Team Management:
Supervise and lead a team of production staff, including tailors, printers, and support staff.
Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Inventory Management:
Oversee the management of raw materials, fabrics, and printing supplies.
Ensure adequate stock levels to support continuous production.
Coordinate with procurement to source materials and negotiate supplier contracts.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Conduct regular safety training sessions for production staff.
Address any safety concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.
Communication:
Facilitate effective communication between various departments, such as design, sales, and logistics.
Provide regular updates to the Production Manager on production status and performance metrics.
Collaborate with other managers to resolve cross-functional issues.
Cost Management:
Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Work with the finance department to develop and manage the production budget.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in the tailoring or printing industry.
Strong understanding of tailoring and printing processes.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Proficient in using production management software and tools.
Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
