We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Development Manager

Location: Lagos

Description

  • A plastics manufacturing company in Lagos is looking to recruit for the role of Sales Development Manager PVC. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving sales and revenue growth within the plastic recycling division.
  • They will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, establishing strong customer relationships, and promoting our range of postconsumer goods made from recycled plastic materials.
  • He/She will have a passion for sustainability, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales development within the plastic industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential customers, market trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Generate high-quality leads through targeted prospecting efforts, including cold calling, email outreach, and social networking.
  • Qualify leads to ensure they align with our ideal customer profile and exhibit genuine interest in our recycled plastic products.
  • Develop and implement lead nurturing strategies to keep potential customers engaged and informed.
  • Manage the sales funnel meticulously, from initial contact to deal closure.
  • Prioritize leads based on their readiness to buy and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Effectively communicate the unique value propositions of our recycled plastic products to potential customers.
  • Tailor messages to address specific pain points and needs of each prospect.
  • Conduct compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations that highlight the benefits of our recycled plastic solutions.
  • Showcase our products' superior quality and environmental benefits.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships built on trust and transparency.
  • Act as a strategic partner, understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to develop and refine sales strategies and tactics.
  • Identify and pursue strategic sales opportunities and partnerships.
  • Skilfully address customer objections and concerns to move prospects closer to a positive decision.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to secure profitable agreements and successfully close sales.
  • Regularly assess and analyse individual and team sales performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3 years + Proven experience in sales development, with a strong sales track record.
  • 2 - 3 years of substantial experience in the plastic industry, with a solid understanding of plastic market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of the plastic recycling industry or a related field is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to promoting eco-friendly products.
