Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Location: Isolo, Lagos

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
• Establish preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
• Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and validation of pharmaceutical production equipment.
• Ensure equipment reliability and availability to meet production demands.
• Manage the maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, including cleanrooms and utilities.
• Implement measures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for facility maintenance.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource utilization.
• Provide regular reports on budget performance and variance analysis.
• Ensure that maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant standards.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams during inspections.
• Establish and manage an inventory of spare parts for critical equipment.
• Ensure timely availability of spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify and assess risks associated with equipment and facility maintenance.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions to production.
• Lead and motivate maintenance teams, including technicians and engineers.
• Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to staff.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Evaluate and select vendors based on performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of maintenance activities.
• Ensure that all maintenance records meet regulatory standards and are readily available for audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in maintenance procedures.
• Implement best practices and technologies to enhance overall maintenance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent.

Experience:

• He should have more than 8 years of experience in maintenance roles, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Familiar with pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines related to equipment and facility maintenance.
• Strong technical understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage maintenance teams effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address maintenance challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to different stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
