Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Overview of Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist with 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience to join our HR team. The individual’s role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional.
The HR Generalist will play a key role in managing various HR functions, supporting employee relations, and contributing to the overall success of the human resources department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment as well as use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential.
Responsibilities
Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
Address employee concerns, provide guidance on HR policies, and work to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
Assist in the recruitment process
Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
Communicate changes to employees and provide clarification when necessary.
Support the performance management process
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
Coordinate employee training and development programs.
Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to train and employee turnover rates
Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and morale.
Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. MSc or additional qualifications is an advantage.
3 - 5 years of progressive experience in human resources roles, with a focus on HR generalist responsibilities.
Relevant certification is an added advantage, example CIPM, HRCI and SPHR
Understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
