Job Title: Medical Doctor( Intensive Care Unit)
Locations: Oshodi & Island, Lagos

Reports To: Chief of Critical Care Medicine
Position Overview
The Intensivist is responsible for the comprehensive care of patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
This role requires specialized knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients.
Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and mechanical ventilation management.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to formulate treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other physicians.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to team decisions.
Provide guidance and supervision to junior medical staff and residents.
Education and Research:
Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with advancements in critical care medicine.
Participate in research projects and contribute to scientific literature.
Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Adhere to and promote ICU protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
3 - 6 years relevant work experience.
Valid and active medical license.
Proven experience in an ICU setting.
Skills:
Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of critical care medicine.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stress environment.
Working Conditions:
The position requires long hours and shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The role involves exposure to patients with infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physically demanding procedures.
Stamina to work long hours under stressful conditions.
