Job Title: Chief Operating Officer / Chief Technology Officer

Location: Lagos
Unit: Management
Functionally reports to: Supervises
Group Managing Director: All CompanyStaff

Objective / Purpose

• The COO will act as both a technology and business expert and will be required to make executive technology decisions on behalf of the Group.
• The COO will be tasked with managing a technology company, making investments to align the company and group with its vision for its technological needs and making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company and the group.

Working Relationships
Internal:

• All Sub Business Units, Branch Offices and Subsidiaries

External:
Government Agencies, Clients & Vendors

• Set a vision for the use of technology within the company/ Group.
• Ensure that available technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
• Outline the goals for research and development.
• Create timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
• Make executive decisions with respect to the company's technological requirements.
• Maintain a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivery of IT projects to market.
• Manage technology budgets and time frames effectively and efficiently.
• Stay abreast of technological trends and developments.
• Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
• Act as a mentor to team members.

Job Specification / Qualification
Education qualification:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• An MBA is an added advantage.

Professional qualification:

• Relevant professional certifications.

Experience

• At least Eight (8) years’ of post-graduation experience in a technological role.
• At least Five (5) years managerial experience.
• Advanced technological skillset.
• Demonstrated history with technology.
• Excellent leadership and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Exceptional team management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of the industry with an eye towards the future.
