Job Overview

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality wood components and products.
• The Wood CNC Operator should have a strong understanding of woodworking processes, be proficient in CNC programming, and possess a keen eye for precision and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities
Machine Setup:

• Configure and set up CNC machines according to job specifications.
• Load and secure wood materials into the CNC machine.
• Install and adjust cutting tools and ensure they are in optimal condition.

Programming:

• Develop CNC programs based on project requirements and design specifications.
• Review and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to optimise CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy.

Quality Control:

• Monitor machine operations to ensure the production of high-quality wood components.
• Conduct routine inspections of finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Make adjustments to CNC programs and machine settings as needed for quality improvement.

Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions or errors promptly.
• Keep the work area clean and organised.

Safety:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Communication:

• Collaborate with team members, including designers, engineers, and production staff.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors to provide updates on job progress and challenges.

Education and Training

• Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in CNC machining or a related field is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator in a woodworking environment.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
• Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
• Knowledge of different wood types and their characteristics.
• Familiarity with maintenance procedures for CNC machines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
