Job Title: Video Editor

Work Hours: 11am to 8pm Canada time

Job Description

• We are looking for a Video Editor,with an unparalleled passion for visual storytelling, who will transform raw clips and video footage into high-quality finished videos for our clients and social media platforms. He/She will play a crucial role in cutting the essence of love and joy in each special day.
• The role requires excellent visual and organizational skills, ability to weave together emotional and cinematic storytelling, as well as a strong adherence to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a portfolio of visual assets and manage all videography projects.
• Editing: Handle and organize raw video files. Edit wedding/events footage to create compelling and emotionally resonant films that capture the unique story of each couple/celebrant.
• Storytelling: Craft narratives that evoke emotion and tell a cohesive and beautiful story, showcasing the love and joy experienced during the wedding day.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the creative team, including videographers, producers, and directors, to ensure the vision for each film is realized, Must also be knowledgeable about how Proxies work in Davinci resolve.
• Efficiency: Manage and organize project files and technology tools like computer, internet, files, audio and video assets efficiently to ensure smooth collaboration.
• Feedback and Revisions: Incorporate feedback from clients and internal teams, making necessary revisions to ensure timely client satisfaction.
• Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards throughout the editing process, ensuring the final product exceeds client expectations.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, editing techniques, and emerging technologies to continually enhance skills and improve the quality of work.
• Deliver high-quality videos with speed and efficiency, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Agility: Quickly adapt to different styles and genres, showcasing versatility in your editing capabilities.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Requirements

• Minimum of HND / Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field.
• Minimum Three (3) years of professional experience as a Video Editor.
• Proficient in digital technology and editing software packages (e.g.Davinci Resolve - including how to work in Color, Fairlight and Fusion Tab, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve Proxy)
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing.
• High proficiency in latest Video editing softwares
• Excellent communication skills and Creativity.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a dynamic and remote work environment.
• Familiarity with email management platforms and virtual communication tools (e.g.Google Workspace, Zoom, Monday.com).
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.

• Proven track record as a highly skilled Video Editor, with a stellar portfolio showcasing previous wedding and events film editing work, demonstrating a keen understanding of storytelling, pacing, mixing, transition effects and show of emotion.
• Exceptional Proficiency in using Davinci Resolve for color grading, audio editing, and overall post-production workflow.
• Akeen eye for detail, and the ability to weave together emotional and cinematic storytelling.
