Job Title: Photo Editor

Location: Nigeria
Work Hours: 11am to 8pm Canada time

Job Description

• We are looking for a Photo Editor, with an unparalleled passion for visual storytelling, who will be responsible for the look of final photographs to be sent to clients, for photo books and social media platforms.
• The Photo Editor will be in charge of coordinating photo projects by selecting, editing, and positioning photos at JOPStudios.
• The role requires excellent visual, communication, creative, and organizational skills, as well as a strong adherence to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a portfolio of visual assets and manage all photography projects.
• Apply advanced photo editing techniques to enhance the visual appeal of images while maintaining a natural and authentic look.
• Edit and deliver high-quality images with speed and efficiency, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Collaborate with photographers and creative directors to understand the narrative behind each image and bring it to life through thoughtful and impactful editing.
• Work closely with all members of staff (Photographer and other editors)
• Perfect color grading and correction to ensure images are visually stunning and consistent with the overall aesthetic.
• Perform meticulous retouching to achieve flawless and polished images, background remover, and paying attention to detail while maintaining the authenticity of the subject.
• Work closely with photographers, art directors, and other team members to align with the creative vision and project requirements.
• Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure that all edited images meet or exceed the highest industry standards and compete with the best in the world.
• Quickly adapt to different styles and genres, showcasing versatility in your editing capabilities.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Requirements

• Minimum of HND / Bachelor's Degree in Photography, or a related field.
• Minimum Three (3) years of professional experience as a Photo Editor.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Deep understanding of photography styles and techniques.
• High proficiency in latest photo editing softwares
• Creative and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a dynamic and remote work environment.
• Familiarity with email management platforms and virtual communication tools (e.g.Google Workspace, Zoom, Monday.com).
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.
