Job Title: Managing Editor

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the editorial team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the production of high-quality content that aligns with our brand and audience.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that reflects current market trends, addresses the needs of our audience, and drives engagement and growth.
• Manage the editorial calendar, including planning and scheduling content publication, to maintain a consistent flow of timely and relevant articles.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis on various financial and economic topics, producing insightful articles, reports, and features for publication.
• Collaborate with internal marketing, sales, and consulting teams to support their initiatives and integrate content seamlessly across channels.
• Stay informed about industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices in digital publishing, and leverage this knowledge to continually improve our content and operations.
• Oversee the editing process, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards and guidelines.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, such as website traffic, engagement metrics, and audience feedback, to evaluate content performance and inform future strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in English Language, Mass Communication, Journalism, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, economic principles, and business trends, particularly within the Nigerian context.
• Proven experience in financial journalism and bloggingand a strong portfolio of published work. Alternatively, candidates should have worked in the research department of an investment firm, bank, or any financial services company, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial markets and economic principles.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Strong leadership and management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of effectively leading teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in digital publishing platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Commitment to upholding high editorial standards, integrity, and professionalism.
• Must understand macroeconomic subjects and have knowledge of capital markets and the business environment in general.
• Age between 35 and 45.
• Ambitious and ready to lead an African-centric business media company.
