Miva Open University is an education company building a new kind of university targeted at the African region. Miva, a subsidiary of the uLesson Group, is a Pan-African Distance e-Learning University that is built on a couple of beliefs: Firstly, we believe that the traditional brick-and-mortar approach to tertiary education is no longer a viable option for serving learners on the African continent. This approach will not provide the capacity and efficacy for the people of the region. We are building a university experience that leverages excellent academic talent (wherever it is to be found) and digital technologies to create a new, fresh, more efficacious and more accessible tertiary experience.

Job Title: Marketing Intern

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and website.
• Create engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp communities.
• Monitor social media channels for trending topics and engagement opportunities.
• Support the Marketing team in organizing and promoting events or campaigns.
• Collaborate with the Community Manager to assist in community engagement initiatives.
• Help plan and coordinate marketing events, such as webinars, conferences, or product launches. This includes logistical support and promotional activities.
• Conduct market research and analyze marketing data to help identify trends and opportunities.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the Marketing department, such as data entry, filing, and organizing documents.
• Maintain marketing databases and compile reports on marketing activities and campaign results. This may involve using spreadsheet software like Google Sheets, PowerPoint, etc.
• Any special assignment or task assigned by the line manager.
• Provide general support to the Marketing team as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Creative thinker with a passion for marketing and community engagement.
