Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is established in 2018 as registered NGO with Head Office in Maiduguri - Borno State, with offices across Yobe and Adamawa state. We have been visible in Borno Adamawa and Yobe states implementing projects in Education, Protection (Child /GBV), WaSH, Nutrition, Empowerment/Livelihood, Governance and Peace Building. Our approach is aligned with our mission to enhance services delivery and empower citizens, through our Humanitarian, Development, and peace building nexus (HDP).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract
Travel: up to 50% across project locations.
Contract duration: 12 months(3 Month Probation)
Dimension of the Role
The Project Coordinator will work closely with the head of programs reporting to CATAI’s Executive Director, the project coordinator will be tasked with ensuring compliance with CATAI and donor policies, actively contributing to the coordination with our partners to support the Consortium work plan, and providing support to the project team.
Furthermore, the role will include the creation and coordination with the DRC organization to implement in line with implementation tools developed by the two partners.
Supporting protection and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) sessions for adults, adolescents, and children by the SOPs (standard operating procedures), using standard and approved methods, supports the implementation of Training of Trainers (TOT) for local stakeholders, supports the implementation of seminars, working meetings, and other public events, on humanitarian mine action, organized working closely with our partner
Key Role and Responsibilities
Provide a sound technical basis for the consolidation and harmonization of protection monitoring, information dissemination, referrals, EORE training, emergency protection assistance, and community-based protection programming across field sites, with an emphasis on maintaining and improving program quality.
Ensure that all interventions follow the CATAI protection mainstreaming framework, international law and protection standards, and national policies.
Oversee implementation of the protection monitoring and information dissemination program through managing project work plans and budgets (budget forecasting, development of spending plans, and budget follow-up), ensuring timely recruitment, quality implementation, and accurate reporting by CATAI and donor regulations
In line with the Project Cycle Management (PCM) approach, act as and designate other Protection program staff to act as the Project Lead for relevant programs.
Develop protection assessments and analysis for program development.
Provide continuous support to and ensure targeted capacity building of staff on Protection-related and project management skills with a specific focus on building the capacity of local staff.
Support Protection team members to act as the PCM Project Lead for designated programs.
When required, lead on the recruitment and management of new Protection program staff, consultants, or other external support, in coordination with HR.
Represent CATAI in field and national level and strategic meetings involving protection actors such as protection cluster meetings, inter-agency coordination meetings, and bilateral meetings
Provide input for advocacy purposes and support the achievement of advocacy goals, as needed
Requirements
Relevant University Degree or Higher education preferable in Social Studies
Minimum 5 years of experience in programmatic implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Technical experience in managing (multisectoral) grants
Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
Budget management and monitoring experience
Fluency in English both written and verbal
Experience working with IDPs or returnees is a plus.
Knowledge of Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (NHF) reporting and respective donor regulations is a plus.
Experience with external representation.
Experience working in complex emergencies, and volatile contexts.
Proven experience in project cycle management and grant management.
Strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and diplomatic skills, including the professional credibility to provide coordination and sometimes guidance to member organizations.
