We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Tax Officer
Location: Lagos

Job Objectives
Accountable for the collection of tax-related information, reporting to taxation authorities at the federal, state, county, and local levels in a timely manner, and advising management on the tax impact of various corporate strategies.
Also to ensure proper tax planning and management and provide support in Fixed Asset Management.
Job Responsibilities
Tax Management:
Researching, analysing and interpreting changing tax legislation in Nigeria
Preparing and submitting compliance (tax) returns by the deadline, such as but not limited to TF Compliance, PAYE Compliance, NSITF Compliance, VAT Compliance, CIT Compliance, WHT Compliance, Education Tax Compliance, Pension Compliance
Liaising and negotiating with the relevant tax and regulatory authorities on behalf of the Company
Creating tax strategies and adequate planning for the Company
Carrying out detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advising on how to minimise tax exposures
Providing guidance on indirect taxation issues such as VAT, customs planning and environmental taxes
Producing reports and presentations for Management.
Fixed Assets:
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of Fixed Assets
Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine dispositions
Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger
Run depreciation for all fixed assets
Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries
Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets
Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
Reports:
Weekly Activity Report
Monthly Activity Report.
Key Performance Indicators
Financial:
Zero Penalties for non-compliance
Capitalization of Assets within 48 hours of being put into use
Zero percentage omission of WHT and VAT deduction
Percentage of Tax Returns Filed On-Time
Effective Tax Rate
Total Volume: Tax Fines.
Operations / Processes:
Suggest at least one way of reducing tax liabilities in a year (avoidance)
Process improvement on fixed assets management
Internal Business Processes
Complete compliance to SOPs.
Customer:
Results of Satisfaction survey of Internal Customers
Results of Satisfaction survey of External Customers.
Learning & Development:
% Completion of Personal Development Plan.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications: A Good Degree in Accounting
Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA
Experience:Minimum of 8 years related work experience.

Accounting: Applies accounting principles and concepts in recording and analyzing business and financial transactions, in accordance with professional and regulatory/statutory requirements
Cost and Management Accounting; Applying the principles and concepts of cost determination, ensuring organization appropriately accounts for and reports the cost of products and services
Month-End Closure: Applying Month-End Close concepts and procedures to enable the closure of accounting books in a timely and accurate fashion
Financial Systems: Understands internal financial procedures and applies understanding of internal information systems to increase work productivity
Asset Management: Knowledge and application of concepts, principles, processes, procedures and approved practices in managing and maintaining assets/ property
Tax Management: Managing all aspects of Company’s planning, tracking, and legal reporting of tax related issues
Cash Management: Organising and monitoring the flow and/or utilization of cash in a manner which is consistent with the overall strategic objectives.
