Job Description

• Understanding and Alignment with the business needs
• Responsible for executing and delivering optimal value in all functional areas ensuring procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business requirements
• Develop and implement strategies that meet and support the business objectives (i.e. commodity & supplier strategies, projects as applicable)
• Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner which include booking and coordinating inbound and outbound freight.
• Analyze market trends and report substantial issues / resolution plan(s) to management if applicable
• Manage supplier relationships and subsequent supplier performance. Interact with supply base and internal and potential customers to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
• Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery
• Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed
• Determine strategic supply objectives using tools and reports for decision making around products and commodity purchases
• Manages vendor relations and supplier development with selected vendors
• Manage procurement process to reduce the cost of goods & services while increasing overall value
• Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company
• Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records
• Ability to get along and work effectively with others is required
• Resolve issues related to quality, cost and delivery

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / HND / OND in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business or related area
• 2 – 3 years proven working experience as a procurement officer in agricultural commodities
• Must have strong negotiating and problem-solving skills and demonstrate proven success
• Provides in-depth market information, supply base activities to management
• Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties
• Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products
• Ability to Multitask and adapt priorities quickly and work with minimal supervision
• Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
• Proficient use of MS office tools
• Advanced planning and analytical capability
• Leadership and Supervisory experience are required
• Ability to get along and work effectively with farmers, laborers and suppliers is required
• Willingness to travel domestically (up to 50%)
• Suitable candidates must be based within Ogbomosho/surrounding environment or be willing to relocate immediately.

Salary
N60,000 - N80,000 monthly.
