Job Title: Dental Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Therapist to join their team, the role emphasizes preventive care and minor treatments, contributing to comprehensive oral healthcare for the community.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dental hygiene assessments and preventive treatments, including dental cleanings and fluoride applications.
Interact with patients, assist in diagnosing dental conditions; ensuring their understanding of treatment plans and addressing any concerns they may have.
Administer local anaesthesia and perform dental restorative procedures, such as fillings
Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on the latest developments in dental therapy and hygiene.
Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in dental therapy.
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Integrate new patients (DIAs) to the Practice by their processing, this is inclusive of:
Completion of the Medical History Process
Taking the appropriate x-rays
Appropriate Clinical photo’s and where appropriate
To collect information/take on the health history of such patients in relation to the oral problem(s) of the Patient and assist patients with form-filling procedures where required.
To present the said information the processing Doctor to enable their Dental Examination check to be done.
Maintain the consultation room in a welcoming and organized manner.
Clinical administrative Roles:
Determine and Educate on Dental Benefits:
Assess dental benefit eligibility and limitations for patients.
Provide estimates and explanations regarding payment arrangements.
Educate patients on their dental benefits as needed.
Financial Facilitation:
Present treatment plans to patients, possibly alongside the assigned doctor.
Obtain patient consent for proposed treatments.
Discuss treatment details, address patient concerns, and offer solutions.
Present case fees and various financial options to aid patient decision-making and plan acceptance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Dental Hygiene/Therapy or related field.
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a dental practice.
Relevant post-qualification certifications would be an advantage.
Member of Dental Therapist Registration Body Of Nigeria.
Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and therapies.(Understanding of comprehensive patient & re-care examinations and various dental treatments commonly offered to properly advise patients on alternate treatment options & needs.)
Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
Commitment to preventive dental care and patient education.
Dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Previous experience in the use of Patient Information Management software (PIMS) would be an advantage.
Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 Monthly.
