Borno State University is in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. It was established in 2016. It is made up of four Faculties and College of Health Sciences as follows; Agriculture, Arts and Education, Sciences, Social and Management Sciences and College of Health Sciences. In addition, it has a Centre for Research & Development and Center for Kanuri Ajami and Qur'anic Studies.

In accordance with the provisions of the University's Law, the Governing Council hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with experience in University Administration for the position below will soon be vacant:

Job Description

• The Vice-Chancellor shall be the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University and shall exercise general supervision over the University.
• He/she shall be chairman of the Senate and ex-officio of the Governing Council and must be responsible to Council for the day-to-day Management of the human, financial and material resources of the University.

Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post of the Vice-Chancellor should possess the following:

• A Professor of proven track record of scholarship at national and international levels,
• Must have good understanding of the vision and mission of the University,
• Innovative, capable of inspiring advancement of learning and commitment to providing effective leadership,
• Capacity for prudent management of resources, Cognate administrative experience
• Track records that command the respect and loyalty of members of staff and students of Bomo State University,
• Ability to foster the integration of all without discrimination, race, color, ethnicity, gender, religious and other acts of intolerance, Sound moral and unquestionable integrity and probity
• Sound state of health,
• Proficiency in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Ability to generate and attract fund.

Tenure

• The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years only.

Age of Applicants:

• Eligible candidates should not be more than sixty-five (65) years old at the time of assumption of office.

Conditons of Service
Must be as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigerian Universities.
