Job Title: Consultant Physician / Cardiologist

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• Diagnose and treat patients with various cardiovascular conditions
• Assisting and/or performing surgery which may include complex surgical interventions that require a team of medical professionals
• Manage and train subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their job
• Using radiological findings/investigations to diagnose and treat heart and/or cardiovascular conditions.
• Opportunities for training in Interventional Cardiac Cath procedures
• Render support during cardiac devices implant
• Conduct ECHO and stress investigations on both inpatients and outpatients and report findings
• Implement the policies, procedures, and services of the Hospital
• Play a major role in ensuring that patients have a pleasant experience, are treated with dignity and respect; and are adequately informed about health conditions to be participatory
• Keeps to the rational use of medications, investigations, and procedures
• Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including treatments prescribed, and test results.
• Participates in the hospital’s research, health education, community outreach, and health promotion activities
• Participates in teaching, supervising, and enforcing standards of care in the hospital
• Participate in weekly Academic Learning activities limited to scope of practice.

Job Eligibility Requirements

• A Consultant Physician / Cardiologist with relevant working experience in a Large Hospital.
• Candidate must possess a Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) or its equivalent with relevant certifications and requisite training
• Possess strong leadership skills, understanding of the Hospital’s services, and competition in the industry and positioning
• Must have strong analytical/critical thinking skills, excellent written and oral communication skills (in person, by email, SMS and over the phone),
• Should be computer proficient and have sound and practical relevant knowledge in general operations in Cardiology and other aspects of Internal Medicine including the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (As an added advantage)
