We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Officer with a strong background in manufacturing to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations within a manufacturing environment.
The Account Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash transactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to management.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Inventory Management:
Collaborate with the production team to manage inventory levels.
Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Monitor inventory valuation and provide recommendations for adjustments.
Cost Analysis:
Analyze manufacturing costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
Work closely with the operations team to optimize production processes.
Provide cost estimates for new products or projects.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial performance and key metrics to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA qualification preferred.
Proven experience as an Account Officer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Versatile Knowledge in the use of SAGE Software & ERP is essential.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional qualification will be added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a reputable organization.
Below 30 years.
