Job Title: Engineering Lead

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Build the product(s) from the front.
• Provide strategic and operational guidance to all Engineers.
• Establish best practices for team members to ensure achievement of overall business objectives.
• Develop ideal procedures for manufacturing both new and used products to attain high levels of product quality and dependability.
• Create specifications for the products and manufacturing processes needed to produce next-generation microfluidic products.
• Lead and grow the engineering teams by expanding, upskilling, and managing engineers, ensuring they have the key roles needed to execute the roadmap.
• Complete regular (monthly) performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues, and procedures as appropriately outlined by the People & Culture teams.
• Ensuring the engineering ship is operating at a high velocity and with high quality by building systems and processes that enable the engineers to consistently deliver products and features on time with high quality.
• Prepare quarterly engineering budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on engineering expenditure.
• Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects.
• Input and hold responsibility for engineering budgets.
• Always optimize engineering costs to ensure the organization is spending with clarity of resources used.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's / Master's / PhD qualification in Computer Science / Engineering or Software Engineering or similar disciplines
• 10+ years of relevant experience in creating highly scalable products and developing robust, high-performance, and intelligent systems.
• Write code irrespective of your level and deeply values coding as a craft.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages: Golang, Java, Django, Python, JavaScript, DRF etc.
• Integrity, strength of character and highly confidential.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good networking skills and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google, and other relevant collaboration tools.
