Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our team.
The Business Development Officer (BDO) plays a crucial role in implementing and executing the sales strategy to drive the organization's SME loan portfolio.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue generation targets, particularly in retail loans.
They should possess impeccable character and integrity, along with extensive experience in the Nigerian microfinance sector. The candidate must have hands-on expertise in liquidity management, debt collection, loan recovery, and SME loan disbursement.
Sales Strategy Implementation:
Execute the organization's sales strategy to drive the SME loan portfolio, aligning efforts with overall business objectives.
Develop and implement effective sales tactics and techniques to attract SME clients and achieve revenue targets.
Revenue Generation:
Actively prospect and acquire new SME clients, building a robust pipeline of potential borrowers.
Drive revenue growth by effectively promoting and selling loan products to SMEs, leveraging market insights and customer needs analysis.
Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong relationships with SME clients, providing personalized support and guidance throughout the loan application process.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering financial advice and solutions tailored to their specific business needs.
Credit Assessment and Risk Management:
Conduct thorough credit assessments of SME loan applicants, evaluating their creditworthiness and risk profile.
Mitigate credit risks by adhering to established underwriting criteria and conducting comprehensive due diligence on prospective borrowers.
Liquidity Management and Loan Disbursement:
Manage liquidity effectively to ensure timely disbursement of SME loans, maintaining optimal cash flow and liquidity levels.
Facilitate the smooth and efficient processing of loan applications, coordinating with internal departments to expedite loan approvals and disbursements.
Debt Collection and Loan Recovery:
Implement proactive debt collection strategies to minimize delinquency and achieve timely loan repayments.
Work closely with borrowers to develop repayment plans and negotiate settlements, ensuring prompt resolution of overdue accounts.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices in microfinance operations.
Stay abreast of regulatory updates and changes, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Proven track record of success in sales and revenue generation, particularly in the microfinance sector.
Strong understanding of SME lending principles, liquidity management, debt collection, and loan recovery.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, target-driven environment, with a passion for driving business growth.
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical business practices.
