The Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti is a Federal Government-owned foremost, cutting edge, primary, secondary and tertiary health service provider and clinical training institution in Nigeria. The hospital, which is one of the fastest growing teaching hospitals in the country was established in 1998 by the Federal Government to provide affordable, qualitative and accessible medicare to every state of the federation, particularly to the people living in the grass root of Ekiti State and its environment. At inception in 1999 the Hospital had six departments and currently twenty-two clinical and four nonclinical departments.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:
The Director of Administration shall be responsible to the Chief Medical
Director/Medical Director/Registrar/CEO for daytoday general administration of the Hospital.
He/she shall be the Chief Administrative adviser to the Chief Medical Director/Medical Director/Registrar/CEO and Secretary to the Board of Management.
In addition, the Director of Administration shall:
Take charge of the department responsible for administration
Participate in formulation, execution and review of policies as directed by the Chief Medical Director/Medical Director/Registrar/CEO and the Board
Coordinate the activities of Support Departments in the Hospital
Conduct the correspondence of the Board and keep the records of the Hospital;
Perform such other functions as the Board or the Chief Medical Director/Medical Director/Registrar/CEO may from time to time assign to him/her.
Requirements
Candidate must possess a good First Degree in either Hospital/Health Services Management or the Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized University or its equivalent.
Candidate must have not less than twenty (20) years of post qualification working experience in a government establishment.
Candidate must be in the Directorate Cadre in a government establishment.
Possession of a Master's Degree or any relevant higher degree would be an added advantage.
Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Health Services Administration of Nigeria (IHSAN) or any other relevant professional certificate is an added advantage (where applicable).
Candidate must be ICT compliant.
Working experience in a hospital is an added advantage (where applicable).

Tenure
The Director of Administration shall hold office effective from the date of appointment inclusive of any period previously served as a Director in any other organisation in the Public Service, provided the Officer does not attain the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years or thirty five (35) years of service (whichever comes first) and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
Salary and Allowances
Salary and allowances shall be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for this category of officer.
