We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time / Onsite

Role Description

• We are looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The Accountant will also assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• The ideal candidate should be able to provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position of the company, liquidity and cash flows of our business while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.
• The ideal candidate should also have a firm grasp of Zoho Books and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Filling and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
• Compile and analyze financial statements.
• Manage all accounting transactions.
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements in time.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure timely bank payments.
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
• Comply with financial policies and regulations.
• Maintaining accurate financial records.
• Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
• Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
• Assisting management in the decision-making process.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities where required.
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Fluency in Zoho Books.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a plus.
