Job Title: Elementary Class Teacher

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description
The Candidate will be:

• Responsible for the smooth running of designated rooms through the structured timetable and school guidelines.
• Promote the general care and welfare of all children and more particularly, the children in designated classrooms.
• Maintain a daily register and supervise children in and out of the classroom, during other extra-curricular activities.
• Study and discover the personality of each student in your care.
• Work with the School management to develop and maintain the school’s Montessori program and use the weekly themed scheme.
• Organize relevant and appropriate field trips and outings.
• Maintain the standard and complete sets of Montessori materials and create appropriate new ones.
• Ensure all parents’ policies and procedures are followed, and all relevant forms, from and for parents,are completed and collected daily.
• Conduct or arrange the general cleaning of your room and ensure it is safe for the children.
• Prepare termly reports regarding the student's progress and development.
• Be willing to work in other classrooms of the School when required.
• Organize and attend ‘Parent Teacher Conferences’ every term

Qualifications

• A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields
• A Montessori Diploma / Certificate from a recognized and approved Montessori College is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an Elementary Directress within a practicing Montessori setting.
• First Aid certified

• Competent in Arts & Craft
• Ability to create and maintain a prepared environment, plan ahead, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of childcare and the required Health & Safety and Policy & Procedures standards in a Montessori / preschool setting
• Sincere and genuine love of children.
• Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Possess basic Computer skills.
• Flexible and an effective team player
• Initiative and ability to cope under pressure.
• Maintain a Professional disposition at all times.
• Warm, caring personality; and good rapport with adults and children alike
• An enthusiastic ‘can–do’ attitude
