Industrial Training Fund (ITF) - NECA / DENUHENT Farms Skills Development Programme

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) - Established in 1971, the Industrial Training Fund has operated consistently and painstakingly within the context of its enabling laws Decree 47 of 1971 as Amended in the 2011 ITF ACT. The objective for which the Fund was established has been pursued vigorously and efficaciously. In the four decades of its existence, the ITF has not only raised training consciousness in the economy, but has also helped in generating a corps of skilled indigenous manpower which has been manning and managing various sectors of the national economy.

Programme Description
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA), in collaboration with DENUHENT Farms, Makurdi invite applications from qualified young Nigerians of sound character and learning potential to undertake four months intensive training programme in the following areas:

• Poultry Farming
• Fish Farming (Aquaculture)
• Piggery Farming

Objectives

• This programme is aimed at training and equipping youths with employable and entrepreneurial skills in integrated farm enterprises anchored on business sustainability and self-reliance.

Programme

• Successful candidates will enjoy tuition fee FREE training, lunch and stipends.
• The programme is non-residential. Candidates will therefore, be responsible for their accommodation throughout the duration of the programme.

Requirements

• Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 40 years and are required to possess any of the following qualifications:
  • Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • Ordinary National Diploma (OND) HND or Bachelors Degree
• Applicants must be prepared to dedicate four (4) months of their time to this intensive training; and willingness to go into livestock farming as a full time business will be an added advantage.

Entrance Examination
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to come for an aptitude test and oral interview, and should bring along the following:

• Two (2) passport size photographs
• Original Birth Certificate,
• Originals of Educational Qualification Certificate(s),
• Original and photocopy of National ID, Voter's Card or International Passport.
