We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Concrete Road Construction Project Management Consultant
Location: Bonny Island Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12-16 Months
Proposed Commencement: May 2024
Department: Project Management
Reports To: Project Director/Client
Project: 1.5KM Road project including extensions, furniture and motorable road diversion
Responsibilities
Project Governance:
Advise on and ensure adherence to established project governance frameworks and policies.
Conduct independent reviews of project documents and decision-making processes.
Escalate potential governance issues to the appropriate authorities.
Project Management Office (PMO) Performance:
Evaluate the effectiveness of the PMO and recommend improvements for optimal project control.
Collaborate with the PMO to ensure timely and accurate project data collection and reporting.
Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning, and contingency development.
Introduce and maintain a digital project communication and collaboration platform.
Documentation:
Review project documents (plans, schedules, budgets, contracts) for completeness and compliance.
Advise on document control procedures and ensure all project documentation is properly managed.
Conduct document audits to identify and address any discrepancies.
Introduce and manage project dashboard for digital project management and reporting
Project Delivery:
Provide independent oversight of project management processes for quality, cost, and schedule.
Analyze project performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Advise on corrective actions and strategies to address project challenges and deviations.
Reporting:
Review and provide feedback on project reports (progress reports, risk reports, budget reports).
Ensure project reports accurately reflect project status and address potential concerns.
Recommend reporting enhancements to improve transparency and stakeholder communication.
HSE:
Evaluate the project's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plan and its implementation.
Advise on best practices for ensuring a safe working environment for all project personnel.
Identify and report potential HSE risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Management:
Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders (client, contractors, regulators).
Assist in resolving stakeholder disputes and managing expectations.
Represent the client's interests in stakeholder meetings and negotiations.
KeyPerformance Indicators(KPIs) - Quarterly
Project Governance: Number of identified and resolved governance issues.
PMO Performance: Metrics demonstrating improvement in PMO effectiveness.
Documentation: Percentage of project documents reviewed and approved with minimal discrepancies.
Quality, Cost, Schedule: Project performance against established quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Reporting: Timeliness and accuracy of submitted project reports and addressed stakeholder concerns.
HSE: Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and proactive implementation of safety improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management: Positive stakeholder feedback regarding communication and resolution of project issues.
Qualifications
Interested candidats should ppssess possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree
Over 50 years of combined experience in construction project management across the team.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI framework).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) lead
Team Structure:
Lead Project Management Consultants: Kenechukwu Nwankwo (PMP) and Engr. John Asika (shared role to achieve 100% cover)
QA/QC specialist – Full time
Project Planner and documentation specialist – Full time
Group PMO support – Central office: Remote/PH based
