The Category Manager - Wells & Subsurface Operations shall be responsible for managing category contracting, procurement spend management, and governance processes associated with well construction and subsurface operations.
The focus is broadening relationships with contractors, identifying trends, innovations, technology, and opportunities to improve supply chain value and manage spend while managing associated supply chain risks.
Main Responsibilities
Analyzing data or insights to determine industry and Market trends regarding Well Construction and Subsurface Product and Service category
Formulate a strategic long-term plan for Well contraction and subsurface service and product categories in consultation with internal business teams, Contractors, regulators, JV partners, and stakeholders.
Conduct market intelligence, innovations, opportunities, and trends within well construction and subsurface categories and formulate appropriate contracting, sourcing strategies, and contract management methods to enhance value.
Execute sourcing events in line with approved governance standards and practices within the oil and gas industry.
Build relationships with key vendors to improve pricing and quality of services
Lead category ranging, pricing, spend management, and promotions across channels
Issue in line with approved protocol appropriate orders to ensure product availability meets demand
Lead category management projects to optimize ranges and related procurements
Collaborate with buyers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to expand product categories
Forecast and Plan product and service demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory and service availability
Work with good construction and subsurface teams to Manage budget development for the category
Developing strong working relationships with buying, marketing, and internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with the contract and procurement governance process
Educational Qualifications & Other Experience
A University Degree in Engineering or Business Management
Minimum of 7 years experience in Oil and Gas Contract Management or Administration.
MCIPS Certification will be an added advantage.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Contracting and procurement process, supplier relationship management, and market /industry trends.
Mastery of knowledge of Nigerian upstream contracting processes and regulatory requirements.
Skilled in the use of Oracle ERP
Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional and disciplinary team
Exemplify a strong attention to detail
Possesses superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite
Strong experience in petroleum agreements and working with regulators e.g. Niums, NCDMB, and NUPRC
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Capable of professionally managing confidential information
