Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement officer for our client in the Oil and Gas industry. A procurement officer is responsible for managing the purchasing process within an organization, ensuring that goods, services, and materials are acquired at the best possible price and quality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans and strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on factors such as price, quality, and delivery time.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions for accuracy, and ensure timely processing of orders.
• Monitor contract performance, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
• Ensure that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, supplier consolidation, or negotiation tactics.
• Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and supplier reliability issues.

Requirements

• OND/ HND/BSc
• 1-2 year’s experience in procurement
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 per month.
