Halifield School, founded in 1996, was initially situated on Salami Street, Mende until 2003 when it relocated to its permanent premises on Oki Lane, Maryland, Lagos. In 2009, Halifield commenced a secondary school which is a preparatory ground for university entry and a grooming centre for adolescents.

Job Description

• Plan and prepare meals tailored to the tastes, dietary needs, and preferences of the employer and their family.
• Create menus for daily meals, special occasions, and events, considering factors such as seasonality, food allergies, and cultural preferences.
• Shop for high-quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and sourcing specialty items as needed.
• Cook meals in the employer's home, utilizing various cooking techniques and equipment to achieve desired flavors and textures.
• Present meals in an aesthetically pleasing manner, paying attention to detail in plating and garnishing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
• Manage inventory of pantry items, groceries, and kitchen supplies, keeping track of stock levels and replenishing as necessary.
• Coordinate with household staff, such as housekeepers and assistants, to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service.
• Accommodate special dietary restrictions or preferences of guests and visitors when hosting events or gatherings.
• Remain up-to-date on culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually innovate and enhance the dining experience.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess minimum of an OND qualification with relevant work experience.
• Proven experience working as a chef in private residences, luxury hotels, or high-end restaurants.
• Extensive knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
• Ability to adapt recipes and menus to accommodate dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, vegan, and kosher diets.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan and execute multiple meals simultaneously.
• Discretion and respect for privacy, maintaining confidentiality regarding the employer's personal affairs and lifestyle.
• Passion for food and dedication to delivering exceptional culinary experiences that exceed the expectations of the employer and their guests.
