Administrative Officer at New Education Consult

New Education Consult is a consulting firm for various schools in Lagos state. We are professions that seek to recruit high flyers in the labour market for our clients. Our clients range from Primary to Secondary School with both day and boarding faciliities with international standards. Curriculum are Nigerian, British and American taught at various levels. We ensure that employed candidates are treated as guided as the Nigerian Labour Law and international best practices.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Administrative Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment, systems, and structures within the facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas of improvement and address maintenance issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for repairs, renovations, and facility upgrades.
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance staff, contractors, and other facility-related personnel.
  • Enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a secure environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, implementing necessary measures to mitigate potential hazards and, prepare and review operational reports.
  • Manage the company’s fleet and transportation unit and supervise the drivers.
  • Arranging quotations for the purchase, maintenance and disposal of office and classroom equipment.
  • Arranging quotations for minor maintenance.
  • Manage office supplies stock and place orders
  • Prepare regular reports on expenses and office budgets
  • Organize a filing system for important and confidential company documents
  • Distribute and store correspondence (e.g., letters, emails, and packages)
  • Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data, as assigned
  • Arrange travel and accommodations
  • Planning, scheduling, and promoting office events, including meetings, conferences, interviews, orientations, and training sessions.
  • Collecting, organizing, and storing information using computers and filing systems.
  • Overseeing special projects and tracking progress toward company goals.
  • Ensure the company’s operations are secured and effective.
  • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams and departments
  • Facilitate communication throughout the college and develop procedures to make a workplace more efficient.

Requirements

  • HND / B.Sc. Office Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or relevant discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in an administrative capacity in a school.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in budget management, vendor negotiations, and contract administration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing facility-related challenges.
  • Solid knowledge of office procedures
  • Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically)
  • Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
