College Librarian at Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma

The Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma was established in 1991 by the Military Governor of the State, Colonel Yahaya John Madaki, as College of Education (Technical) Dutsin-ma, with the primary aim of addressing the shortage of Science and Technical Teachers at the NCE level at that time. In 1994, it was converted to a conventional College to make it an all-encompassing Teacher Training Institution with the major Technical Department transferred to Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic. Then, the Civilian Government of Alhaji Sa’idu Barda in 1995, renamed the College; Isa Kaita College of Education to immortalize the late, Alhaji Isa Kaita, Wazirin Katsina.

Job Title: College Librarian

Duties

• The College Librarian is a principal Officer who shall be responsible to the Provost for the administration of the College Library and coordination of library service in the teaching units of the institution.

Qualifications
Candidates for the post shall be professionally trained librarians and be of impeccable character, homestead with high moral behavior. I'm addition, the candidates should have:

• A minimum of MLS Degree (a PhD. will be an added advantage).
• Relevant publications (in journals and text books) equivalent to that of a principal Lecturer.
• Evidence of membership of recognized professional associations.
• At least 18 years cognate experience. v) Attained the rank of Principal Librarian.
• Must be computer literate.

Salary and Terms of Appointment
The salary and conditions of service for the College Librarian shall be as obtainable in the Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma, Katsina State. The appointment shall be for a five-year team.
