Job Title: Subsurface Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary

• Work with stakeholders in technical and non-technical departments to deliver on corporate goals while managing time, cost, and resources effectively. 
• Resolve subsurface Reservoir Engineering issues using a functional understanding of geology, geophysics, reservoir, and fluid characterization and how they relate to reservoir performance and development planning.
• Resolve Production Engineering issues using a functional understanding of tubing and well design, and surface facilities’ impact on production performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor field development plan-related studies to ensure technical quality, rigor, and compliance with the Company’s standards and guidelines.
• Provide hands-on support for the development and use of reservoir modeling and simulation and reservoir studies and projects.
• Provide input for good intervention, and drilling work programs.
• Provide inputs to the Geoscience, Facilities, and Field Operations team on technical projects
• Examine and review various reservoir study reports, and recommend actions and techniques to improve field development plans, and data-gathering programs and to ensure proper implementation of the Company’s reservoir management guidelines
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
• Prepare DST/RMT/BHP Programme – Two (2) weeks before the mobilization of the service provider.
• Coordinate annual BHP exercise.

Educational Qualifications and Other Requirements

• 5 years of experience in reservoir and production engineering, well intervention, production in programming, and field development  
• University Degree in Engineering (MSc. is an added advantage)
• Member of a professional organization
• Problem solver and fast learner.
• Good communicator with strong presentation and report-writing skills (these are a must!)
• Broad Knowledge and Experience in Petroleum Engineering Practice.
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Project management and team leadership skills/experience.
