A.T. Onajide Architects started out in 1987 on the back of a winning entry in a design competition for the squash court complex of one of the oldest clubs in Nigeria, Ikoyi Club 1938. The early work of the firm was geared towards satisfying the needs of new financial & banking institutions, for which the stylized neo-classical and post-modern were the vogue. The firm went on to prove herself by winning a string of other competitive bids for work including the 17 storey, 3-tower headquarter building for the Federal Inland Revenue Service at Abuja.

Job Description

• We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Architect to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, evaluating, and implementing architectural procedures and techniques to complete projects. This role includes overseeing minor or small architectural projects and guiding the work of lower-level architects.
• You will prepare reports and specifications, utilizing advanced techniques to contribute to moderately complex aspects of projects. This position typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Create schematic designs, design development, and construction documents.
• Develop projects while adhering to specific requirements and schedules.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the New Jersey Building Codes and local zoning codes.
• Work on large infrastructure building designs, documentation, and delivery to project managers, contractors, and team members.
• Function as an architectural designer when necessary.
• Lead the technical development of multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
• Guide and manage building and systems programming, site and building analysis, and report documentation.
• Serve as a healthcare design program manager.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is required; Bachelor/Master of Architecture from an accredited program is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written skills in English.
• High proficiency in Revit.
• A minimum of 5 years of related work experience on mid to large scale projects.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice and management.
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Bluebeam Studio, and other graphics/design applications is a plus.
• Strong presentation, client engagement, team building, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
• Architectural Registration is preferred.
