Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Description

• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including molecular diagnostics and histology
• Analyze test results, identify abnormalities, and report findings to healthcare providers
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve laboratory operations
• Stay current with industry developments and advancements in laboratory science

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols
• Evaluate test results and report findings to healthcare providers
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results and laboratory activities
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent (e.g. ASCP, AMT, or NSCM)
• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and procedures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in a related field
• Specialized certification in a specific discipline (e.g. molecular diagnostics, histology)
• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR)
