Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba, Lagos is a research institution with a mandate as an Institute under the enabling Act of 1977, stipulating that it shall conduct research into health problems in the country.

Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba, Lagos is recruiting to fill the following vacant positions:

1.) Chief Research Fellow - CONMESS 05 (Abuja Office)

Requirement

• A Candidate must possess Part II of the Fellowship of National or West African Postgraduate Medical College with interest in Internal Medicine with special interest in Immunology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Plus at least seven (7) years post-registration experience and one year (1) post Part II with evidence of interest in research and scholarship.

2.) Chief Research Fellow - CONHESS 12

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a PhD in the Medical Sociology, Biostatistics and must demonstrate substantial research leadership with at least 15 publications in peer reviewed Scientific Journals.

3a) Research Fellow I  - CONHESS 10 (Kainji Station)

Requirement

3b) Research Fellow I  - CONMESS 03 (Kainji Outstation)

Requirement

• A Candidate must possess Part I of the Fellowship of National or West African Postgraduate Medical College with evidence of interest in research and scholarship in Chemical Pathology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Microbiology
• Plus at least four (4) years post-registration experience.

3c) Research Fellow II  - CONMESS 02

• A Candidate must possess MBBS with evidence of completion of NYSC.

3d) Research Fellow II - CONHESS 09 (Kainji Outstation)

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess either Ph.D in Medical Microbiology or Biochemistry with a minimum of 2 publications.

3e) Junior Research Fellow - CONHESS 08 (Kainji Outstation)

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a M.Sc. in Biostatics, Medical Microbiology.

4a) Research Fellow I  - CONHESS 10 (Maiduguri Station)

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a Ph.D in the Biochemistry, Biostatistics, or Clinical Immunology -plus at least five publications in peer reviewed Scientific Journals.

4b) Research Fellow I  -  (CONMESS 03)

Requirement

• A Candidate must possess Part I of the Fellowship of National or West African Postgraduate Medical College with evidence of interest in research and scholarship, in Chemical Pathology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Microbiology with interest in Immunology
• Plus at least four (4) years post-registration experience.

4c) Research Fellow II - CONHESS 09 (Maiduguri Outsource)

4d) Junior Research Fellow - CONHESS 08 (Maiduguri Outstation)

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess an M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology, Biostatics or Public Health.

5.) Principal Information Officer I  - CONHESS 10

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess First degree preferably in Mass Communication, Journalism on the Social Science or English Language from a recognized University and at least 9 years post-qualification cognate experience.
• Knowledge of Computer and Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will be added advantage.

6.) Principal Administrative Officer - CONHESS 10 (Abuja Office)

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a good honour degree in any of the Social Sciences or Humanities with a minimum of 9 years work experiences three of which, should have been spent as a Senior Administration Officer in the service organization.
• OR of a Master Degree preferably in Public Administrative, any of the Social sciences with not less than 6 years experience in a Research Institute or related service organization.

7.) Principal Biomedical Engineer - CONHESS 10

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution and must have worked in the Medical Research environment for minimum of 9 years.
• Technical knowledge of all commonly used equipment for medical research will be an added advantage.
• Must be a registered member of COREN.

8.) Principal Librarian - CONHESS 10

Requirement
A Candidate must posses any of the following qualifications:

• A degree from a recognized University and a post graduate diploma in Library Studies with at least nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience.
• A degree in Library Studies plus at least post qualification cognate experience.

9.) Senior Accountant - CONHESS 09

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a B.Sc degree/HND degree in Accountancy from a recognized University/ other Institutions plus 6 years post-qualification Public/Civil Service experience.
• The candidate must possess professional qualification in any of the following Accountancy bodies:Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Cost and management Accountants (ICMA), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), ANAN.

10.) Senior Engineer (Electrical) - CONHESS 09

Requirement

• A Candidate must posses a good B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University
• A minimum of 3 years Post qualification service experience, three of which should have been spent as an Engineer I in relevant organization.
• In addition the candidate must demonstrate ability to explain and discuss knowledge of Electrical Engineering and must have been a registered member of COREN.

11.) Senior Librarian - CONHESS 09

Requirement
A Candidate must posses any of the following qualifications:

• A degree from a recognized University and a post graduate diploma in Library Studies with at least six (6) years post qualification cognate experience,
• A degree in Library Studies plus at least post qualification cognate experience.

12.) Senior Research Fellow (Demography) - CONHESS 11

Requirement

• A candidate should possess a Ph.D in Demography plus at least 12 publications in peer reviewed Scientific Journals.

13.) Senior Research Fellow (Medical Sociology) - CONHESS 11

Requirement

• A candidate should possess a Ph.D in Medical Sociology plus at least 12 publications in peer reviewed Scientific Journals.

14.) Commercial Officer I - CONHESS 08

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce or Marketing from a recognized University.
• The candidate must also have 3 years cognate experience.
• Knowledge of Computer is an added advantage.

15.) Accountant II - CONHESS 07

Requirement

• A Candidate should possess a B.Sc degree in Accountancy from a recognized University.

NB: The Candidates for Maiduguri Outstation must be an indigene of any of the States within the North-East Geo-political Zone and must be ready to reside in the Outstation.
NB: The Candidates for Kainji Outstation must be an indigene of any of the States within the North Central and North West Geo-political Zones and must be ready to reside in the Outstation.
NB: Candidates for the Abuja Office must be prepared to reside within the Federal Capital Territory or its environs.
