Job Title: Hostel Manager

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Job Description

• The Hostel Manager is responsible for maintenance of the hostels.
• Looks after the quality of food served in the hostels.
• Keeps strict discipline among students of the hostels.
• Reports to the Operations Lead or Academy Admin in case of any indiscipline or misbehaviour by the students.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent daily routine that promotes the health and well-being of hostel residents.
• Maintain Proper Housekeeping and Stock Management
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness throughout the hostel.
• Keep an inventory of commonly forgotten items and restock as needed.
• Apply hostel policies consistently while remaining adaptable to specific situations.
• Utilize hostel management software to handle admissions, fees, room and mess allotments, hostel stores, and generate related reports for efficient transactions.
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the hostel, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently.
• Lead by example in managing students and interacting with management staff.
• Foster a positive and respectful environment within the hostel.
• Set up and manage effective financial processes to ensure budgetary control and financial health of the hostel.
• Ensure students adhere to their class schedules and bedtime.
• Monitor student attendance and whereabouts to ensure they are in their designated places at appropriate times.
• Oversee the proper catering of student meals and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain a clean and healthy living environment within the hostel.
• Keep accurate records of student movements in and out of the hostel for tracking and safety purposes.
• Report any inappropriate behavior or attitude exhibited by students to management for disciplinary action.
• Ensure all incidents are documented and reported for record-keeping purposes.
• Ensures that you effectively oversee the smooth operation of the hostel, maintain a healthy living environment, and address any issues promptly and efficiently.
• Providing management with feedback.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an OND, NCE, HND, or B.Sc Degree with 2-5 years experience.
