Job Description

• As the Senior Legal Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and managing legal risks within our organization. With a minimum of 13 years of strong legal experience, including significant exposure to the manufacturing industry, you will oversee internal audit processes and mitigate potential risks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, identify areas of risk, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiation, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
• Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry, and proactively advise management on potential implications and compliance strategies.
• Manage legal disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes, in coordination with external counsel when necessary.
• Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance-related topics to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Mentor and supervise junior members of the legal team, fostering their professional development and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized institution; additional certifications or Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 13 years of progressive legal experience, with significant exposure to regulatory compliance and risk management within the manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective legal and compliance strategies.
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian legal system, regulations, and business practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Salary
750,000 - 800,000 Naira per annum.
