Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must have over five (5) years technical experience with HOWO, IVECO
• Lead a team of mechanics to ensure efficient maintenance of trucks.
• He/She would be responsible for the general servicing, maintenance, and repair of the vehicles, investigating causes of breakdowns and taking corrective actions to forestall future occurrences.
• Coordinate the activities of the workshop on a day-to-day basis.
• Organize and supervise the servicing, maintenance and repair of the company’s trucks and ensure that the trucks are always in good working condition.
• Ensure that trucks come to the workshop at the designated kilometres for servicing.
• Supervise the maintenance and repair of trucks.
• Ensure that trucks are maintained in a safe and reliable working condition in accordance with the planned preventive maintenance program and identify and rectify repetitive problems.
• Ensure that planning, scheduling, and unscheduled repairs are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively, with quality service.
• Oversees warranty obligations, inspection records, manual updates, equipment defect reports, maintenance reports, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Supervise and follow up on the actual progress of each repair job.
• Follow up repair order, registering the time taken to complete each task.
• Responsible for the implementation of HSEQ standards within the workshop area.
• Conduct final check/test driving for all trucks before release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 - 8 years’ progressive work experience as a Head, Mechanicin a Trucking company.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Proven experience working with trucks and semi-literate mechanics.
• Must be able to develop and maintain best practices for workshop procedures.
• He/she must be computer literate with relevant workshop and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Must have great knowledge of truck components and maintenance of such components.
• Able to handle conflict and resolve differences of opinion.
