Job Summary

• We are seeking a diligent and reliable Kitchen Steward to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
• The Kitchen Steward will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, as well as assisting with basic food preparation tasks.
• This role is essential for supporting the kitchen staff and upholding our high standards of hygiene and safety.

Job Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitation:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using dishwashers or by hand.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, appliances, and work surfaces.
• Ensure all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and storage spaces, are kept clean and organized.

Waste Management:

• Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclables according to established procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of garbage disposal areas and ensure proper waste separation.

Inventory and Supplies:

• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials as needed.
• Assist in receiving and storing kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.

Basic Food Preparation:

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Ensure that food preparation areas are clean and sanitized before and after use.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform routine checks and maintenance on kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the kitchen supervisor.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Support and Teamwork:

• Assist kitchen staff with tasks during busy periods to ensure smooth operation.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Capability to work in a hot and humid environment.
